Yulia Iosilzon (b. 1992, Moscow) is an Israeli artist based in London. She earned her BA from the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London, in 2017 and completed her MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art in 2019.
Iosilzon’s figurative paintings on stretched transparent fabric serve as portals into vivid, dreamlike worlds, blending elements of ancient mythology with contemporary social themes. Her works hint at unfolding narratives of human-animal metamorphosis, drawing from a diverse range of visual influences, including childhood cartoons, visions of paradise and the Jewish iconography of her heritage. This rich symbolic language extends beyond painting into her ceramic practice, further deepening her exploration of storytelling and transformation.
Iosilzon has presented solo exhibitions at Berntson Bhattacharjee, London, UK (2024); CARVALHO PARK, New York, USA (2023, 2021, 2019); Foundry, Seoul, KR, (2022); De Brock Gallery, Antwerp, BE (2022); Sapling, London, UK (2022); Huxley-Parlour, London, UK (2021); Berntson Bhattacharjee, in collaboration with Sotheby’s Scandinavia, Stockholm, SE (2021).
Her work is in public collections including The Roberts Institute of Art, London, UK; Xiao Museum of Contemporary Art, Rizhao, CN; X Museum, Beijing, CN; and Sixi Museum, Nankin, CN.
